Walking over the Harrison Street bridge one day in late January, before the big snows, I happened to look down and noticed that Carnegie Lake had become one giant horizontal, black and white stained glass window. I hadn't kept track of the weather, so can't begin to speculate on what forces might have formed such elaborate patterns.
This closeup gives the best comparison to stained glass patterns, including a shape that could be taken for a flower in the upper left.
