Long Ago
Long ago,
When all was elemental,
God said to the beginnings of life,
“Take water and air,
And make sugar with the sun.
That should be good for a nice long run.”Without Leaves
Without leaves,
There’d be no us, no we,
No I or me.
There’d be no irony,
No victory, no Theory of Relativity.
